Resumen

Siguien­do pre­mi­sas de la eco­no­mía con­duc­tual, los pro­gra­mas de Trans­fe­ren­cias Mone­ta­rias Con­di­cio­na­das (TMC) se imple­men­ta­ron para modi­fi­car con­duc­tas típi­cas a tra­vés de las lla­ma­das “con­di­cio­na­li­da­des”. Diri­gi­das a indu­cir cam­bios de com­por­ta­mien­to, sin embar­go, estas con­di­cio­na­li­da­des con­tri­bu­yen a un redi­se­ño del dine­ro, esta vez como “refuer­zo” de algu­nas prác­ti­cas fami­lia­res. En base a tra­ba­jo de cam­po en el Ban­co Inter­ame­ri­cano de Desa­rro­llo y en una comu­ni­dad rural maya-hablan­te de Méxi­co, este docu­men­to com­pa­ra dife­ren­tes roles de esos dine­ros en pro­ce­sos gene­ra­ti­vos huma­nos y no huma­nos. De esta mane­ra, el aná­li­sis de imá­ge­nes metro­po­li­ta­nas y rura­les de repro­duc­ción per­mi­te for­mu­lar la siguien­te pre­gun­ta. ¿Se pue­de con­si­de­rar al efec­ti­vo de las TMC como por­ta­dor de una fuer­za vital para la pro­crea­ción huma­na y la for­ma­ción de capi­tal? Exis­ten indi­cios, en este sen­ti­do, que per­mi­ten afir­mar la siguien­te hipó­te­sis: el dine­ro gra­cias a dis­tin­tas inter­pre­ta­cio­nes socia­les de las tras­fe­ren­cias mone­ta­rias con­di­cio­na­das habría cam­bia­do su natu­ra­le­za al reci­bir atri­bu­tos gene­ra­ti­vos de las madres-admi­nis­tra­do­ras de las mismas.

Abstract

Craf­ted under the logic of Beha­vio­ral Eco­no­mics, Con­di­tio­nal Cash Trans­fers (CCT) were imple­men­ted to modify con­duct through the pro­grams’ so-called “con­di­tio­na­li­ties”. Aimed to indu­ce beha­vio­ral chan­ges, the­se con­di­tio­na­li­ties may have also hel­ped rede­sign money as a “rein­for­cer” of some family beha­viors. Based on field­work at the Inter-Ame­ri­can Bank and in a Mayan-spea­king rural com­mu­nity in Mexi­co, this paper com­pa­res dif­fe­rent roles money takes in human and non-human gene­ra­ti­ve pro­ces­ses. Through a com­pa­ri­son of metro­po­li­tan and rural repro­duc­ti­ve ima­ges, it asks if the cash of the con­di­tio­nal trans­fers is today con­si­de­red to con­vey a vital gene­ra­ti­ve for­ce in hou­sehold repro­duc­tion and capi­tal for­ma­tion. The­re are inde­xes that, in this sen­se, allow us to affirm the follo­wing hypothe­sis: due to to dif­fe­rent social inter­pre­ta­tions of con­di­tio­nal mone­tary trans­fers, money would have chan­ged in its natu­re by recei­ving gene­ra­ti­ve attri­bu­tes from cash trans­fers’ mothers-administrators.
